Author, Mr. Keith Robinson will appear in Catoosa County on Thursday, February 18 for the seventh annual One Book One Community event to speak about the Island of Fog fantasy series.  The free event is sponsored by Catoosa Citizens for Literacy and will be presented at the Catoosa County Library on Benton Place Campus in Ringgold, Georgia at 6:00 p.m.  Mr. Robinson will be available immediately following the lecture to sign books. The Dual County Defenders will present a reading performance at the event.

Books are currently available for check out at the Catoosa County Library and for purchase at the Learning Center for $5.  Books will also be available at the event.

One Book One Community operates much like a book club with everyone reading, thinking about and discussing the same story.  This program is a way to connect the community with reading.  Citizens share the experience of reading one book and have the opportunity to meet the author of the book.  The program has been well received in the past.  The literacy taskforce strives to select books that will appeal to everyone.

The mission of Catoosa Citizens for Literacy is to help all families of our community achieve life-long learning through literacy enabling them to reach their individual goals, while providing our businesses with a better-educated, productive workforce.

In collaboration with Georgia Northwestern Technical College, Catoosa Citizens for Literacy provides free reading classes, GED classes, Basic Computer classes, and English as Second Language, childcare, and transportation.  In addition, Catoosa Citizens for Literacy pays the $160 GED testing fee for Catoosa County residents.

For more information about the event, please contact Catoosa Citizens for Literacy at 706-965-8275, ext.5.
